The task involved waterproofing the entire rooftop, including areas beneath air conditioning units and under decorative tiles.
Findings
- Multiple leaks were reported in rooms directly below the rooftop.
- Gravel and foam insulation covered the bitumen waterproofing membrane, all of which had to be removed manually.
- The membrane and tiles beneath were severely damaged and required careful handling during removal.
Solution
- Applied a UV-resistant, anti-fungal polyurethane (PU) waterproofing system membrane across the entire rooftop surface.
- The roof was mechanically ground to ensure strong bonding of the new coating.
- Special care was taken to waterproof under AC units, gravel, and tiles without damaging them.
- All pipe penetrations were sealed using highly flexible polyurethane sealant.
- A 5-year leakage warranty was provided upon successful completion.
