Area: 170 RM Gutters, 660 RM Joints & 45 Nos Skylights
The project consisted of GRP lamination work on roof gutters, flashing joints, overlapping seams, and cracks on PIR panel roofs.
Findings
- Roof gutters were extensively corroded and leaking.
- Existing waterproofing materials were delaminated and peeling off.
- Overlapping joints and skylight borders had multiple gaps.
Risks
- Material transportation and application on sandwich panel roofs presented tripping hazards.
- Strong chemicals, such as isophthalic resin and gel coat, require proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Solution
- Old waterproofing was removed entirely.
- Gaps were filled with on-site prepared resin joint filler.
- Corroded gutter sheets were replaced with prefabricated GRP sheets.
- A 10-year leakage warranty was issued after successful GRP lamination of all target areas.
